Netflix For Android APK Leaked; Probably Won’t Stream Anything Yet

The APK for one of the most lusted-after Android apps, Netflix, was leaked on to the Internet today. However, whether you can actually do anything with it is another question altogether (the answer to which is not entirely clear yet).

From a member of Android Police:

I was able to install the app on my EVO, and everything looked good up until the point where I actually wanted to watch a movie – and then… nothing. Most users have reported similar results, though at least one user claimed that it is fully functional, with a tweet "works on fascinate" (of course, anyone can say that on Twitter, so take it as you wish).
You can check out the app yourself here and see some screenshots below. Be sure to let us know if you can get some content to actually stream!

Someones yankin' our chain.......won't even log in for me. Screen just flashes white.

After uninstalling and reinstalling it does log in for me and brings up my instant queue but won't play.

This story is all over the net today with the one exception noted in them all....it's not streaming videos for anyone.
Guess Netflix users will have to wait a bit longer.... :disappointed:

Unfortunately, currently Netflix is only planning on streaming to a new Snapdragon chipset that supports hardware DRM protection(a chip that isn't available in any retail devices yet). I'm still hopeful, but I don't think we'll be able to stream Netflix on our devices any time soon.

I just don't understand why it can't be done when the app is available for the iphone. I am about to cancel my account with netflix.

I'm guessing from the post this is a fake app, I would suggest to stay away..
I hear about a few rouge programs infecting people's Androids, creating a fake netflix app would be a great lure to trap you.
