    Issues receiving picture messages.

Lately i've been having issues to where when I receive a picture message the picture won't show up and it says "downloading" which seems fine but I was sent a picture over a week ago and it claims to be still downloading. Anyone know why? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully someone from our "rescue squad" will be by to help soon. In the meantime, can you post a little more information? ie: Is your phone stock or rooted? Are you using the stock messaging app. Have you tried a third party messaging app like GOSMS Pro, Hancent, etc? (Both are very good apps & free in the market)
Have you tried going in and clearing the cache/data? that sometimes helps clear out the cobwebs. (Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, Scroll down to Messaging and clear both. This will delete all your messages though, so back them up first if you don't want to loose them.) Let us know if that helps.

I had this issue once and the biggest problem that arose from it was that every time I rebooted my phone it would give me an on screen notification about not being able to download at this time. It took me forever to find out what was causing the notification. The picture itself downloaded after I selected it in the MMS and told it to try again.
Living dangerously, to me, is eating spaghetti with a white shirt on.

So far with my Galaxy I have not had that issue. Now in the past and one my wife's simple phone some times pictures gets stuck in the mail
And when another pic was sent the first one would show up.... Day's late..... Then the new one gets stuck....
I think it is your service provider on both the sending AND receiving sides...... If there is bandwith.... ??
As I said, with my Galaxy I have received a number of pic's from both iPhones and Andriods... no problem (Knock on wood)

I had this same issue....on my Samsung Captivate. Couldn't download mms messages over wifi....has to be 3G. I'm using a Fido sim on a rogers phone. First you need to go to Settings - Wireless and Network - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names and fill in the information for your provider. This is how mine is set up.

Name: Fido Internet/MMS (can name it anything)
    APN: internet.fido.ca
    Proxy: Not Set
    Port: Not Set
    User Name: fido
    Password: fido
    Server: http://mms.fido.ca
    MMSC: http://mms.fido.ca
    MMS Proxy: 205.151.11.13
    MMS Port: 80
    MCC: 370
    MNC: 370
    Authentication Type: Not Set
    APN Type: internet+mms

I also clicked my Message folder and went to settings and unchecked the Auto-Retrieve box. This allows you to click the download link instead of it just showing the greyed out downloading box.
Just google the settings for your provider and you should be good to go Hoped this helped. I tried many settings and this was the one that finally worked for me.
