checksum needed. movi, fota, data, cache, db data???

I have a Samsung Fascinate sch-i500 that i attempted to root, then to flash a new rom on. Obviously, I had no idea what I was doing and crashed it. So I went to XDA and found DaleV's "How to Recover your Fascinate ...." Followed all the directions through Heimdall, but didn't really pay attention to the fields, except to think to myself, "Self, why don't all those other fields in the data areas have an "frs" after them...? Hmmmm...." and pushed START. Came home to my phone flashing the stuff from my title. I'm thinking I didn't totally flash all data. I can't get into the system or recovery....I can't get past the pretty red and yellow "oh my god, I crashed my phone, my husband is going to kill me" screen.

    Help????

Once you do that...and get your OTA updates again...follow this to root.

YOu will be on eclair again, you need to get the updates to froyo via settings>about phone>check for updates

Thanks! I will try this when I get home tonight. I read somewhere that Odin and Heimdall don't like Windows XP. Is there any truth to this?

Not sure. Good news, you cannot screw your phone up any more than you have...lol However, if you can borrow a friends PC with vista or windows 7, may not be a bad idea.
