Help "can't mount dev block mmcblk0p1 (Invalid Argument)" - CM7 back to stock

I installed CM7 early yesterda, which was giving me issues with the SD Card. So I decided I'd go back to stock. I followed the instructions here:
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1124391 (Using DL09)

After flashing and rebooting the phone was in the stock recovery screen with the error: "can't mount dev block mmcblk0p1 (Invalid Argument)"

I can get the phone into Download Mode. I tried re-flashing DL09 but ODIN pretty immediately said "FAIL".
I tried again later and got it to flash but I am still getting the same error.

Where do I go from here? I am looking at http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1026746 but since Odin doesn't seem to be letting me flash anything I'm not sure what to do.

I think my SD card needs to be reformatted but Im not sure what the best way to accomplish that is. I have a droid 2 global with an SD card but the touchscreen is broken so I can't use that to reformat the SD card. Should I flash CWM Recovery? Should I pop in the SD card from the D2G? Should I focus on trying to reformat the SD card?

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Also make sure that you're using the stock USB cable that came with the phone.

What eclair drivers should I be installing? Is there a guide for that?

I have been using the stock cable, so it's not that.

Nice! Tried the method for getting off CM7 again and it worked. I must have had one of the checkboxes wrong the first time.

Now I just need to get off stock. Can anybody recommend a good stable, decently fast, debloated/debinged rom. Not looking for anything too fancy at the moment. I'd go back to Evil Fascination but it seemed to break my GPS last time I flashed it over ED05....

Try PowerWashed ROM. It's been running pretty well for me. There's a dedicated thread for it in the ROMs section.
