3g no longer available

Help! I rooted and flashed a rom on my verizon galaxy s sch-i500 and now the 3g is no longer there. I tried all options under the setting menu (mob ile networks only shows "data roaming" and "system selection"). I can make phone calls, but have no data or GPS. I tried re-installing the stock 2.3.5 rom, but that didn't fix the issue. Samsung says that they can reinstall the software for me at no charge, but it means I am without phone for 7-10 days, and am not sure they will do anything different than I did. When I flashed the rom, I chose the option to wipe system, data, etc, but this didn't help. What to do? I want more than just phone from my smart phone...

Can you tell us which rom you installed & which guide you followed in doing so? Have you attempted to return to stock using the guide in our Fascinate development section?

Go to setting mobile network and take a look at your APN setting.(What the heck is that?)

What carrier you're using? Google for the setting. This the EXAMPLE from my carrier what is APN all about:

In records, APN for my Telco here are as below:

Carrier: Starhub
APN internet
MCC:525
MNC:05
APN Type: internet
Bearer:Unspecified

Thanks for the quick reply. Here are the basics. I have Verizon as my carrier, and was running a stock 2.3.5 rom on my galaxy s sch-I500 My problem started when I installed a 2.3.6 update from this link:

The notes indicated that "Some users of the Verizon variant who tried flashing this on their phones have experienced some issues with 3G connectivity" which is exactly what happened - it seems this rom was designed for CSPIRE carrier. Once I installed this update, my 3g was gone. I tried to flash back to the stock rom, but this did not restore the 3g. Since then, I have flashed about a half dozen different roms, wiping the cache, boot, system, etc. but still no 3g. At this moment, I am running TSM resurrection as my rom. From my settings menu, there is no "mobile network" option...

Have you considered flashing a VZW modem with Odin? I see you said you tried roms, but maybe the CSpire firmware altered your modem software.

Nope that didn't work. And there seems to be another issue as well...the phone is "remembering" my previous apps and updating them - as well as my previous picture used as the wallpaper. When you flash a rom after doing a factory reset, there should be no memory of the previous apps... It seems like the phone is not completely wiped on reset. I may be wrong, but I want to *completely* wipe all data/apps/configurations back to assembly state and start over? HELP! Do I neet a PIT file? I can boot into clockwork and do a wipe of everything, but it doesn't seem to "take"

Here's more info...
Under Settings > About Phone > Status I get the following:
Network > Verizon Wireless
Signal Strength > -78 dBm
Mobile network type > CDMA - EvDo rev. A
Service State > In service
Roaming > Not Roaming
Mobile Network State > Connecting

This last one is puzzling....

This looks interesting:
If you loose data you have two options right now..
1. Login to My Verizon and swap your phone number to some other phone, activate it (*228) and then swap it back to your Fascinate.
2. Call Verizon and tell them you are not getting any data (but voice works ok) and that you would like your keys reset.
