[APP]RecoveryGui... Android GUI for ClockworkMod Based Recoveries [APP]

This is pretty sweet. Since I have been into modding my phone(s) I always wanted a way to put multiple CWM flashable into a queue, press go!, and then have it automated. It is finally here.

How it basically works is that you launch the app within Android, select all of your files, wipe options, backup options, and then the phone will reboot into recovery, do what you asked of it, and then reboot back into Android.

This has been developed by Braway who also brought us the first CWM for the Note and now the Touchscreen CWM(both of those without even actually owning a Note at the time).

    From his XDA Post:

    What is this?
This is a simple android application, which makes the most common features available in android, without having to reboot manually to recovery. (Not ALL features!)

    Known Bugs
    - you can add folders to the install queue (doesn't make sense...)
    - selecting Backup without also selecting a zip to install will not allow you to create "just" a backup

    How to use
    • Select a zip, click on it to add it to the install queue (and repeat if wanted)
    • click on the zip again, to remove it from the queue again
    • after you've selected all zips you want to flash, click on "Install Queue"
    • long click allows you to add/remove the zip from the queue
    • clicking on apks allows you to install them (if it is enabled)
    • In the Install Queue:
    • long press allows you to remove an item
    • if more than one zip is in the queue, you can re-arrange the installation order
    • checking the backup button, allows you to create a backup before installation (to the selected device)
    • selecting the wipe mode, will wipe after the zips are installed

You can download the apk here: http://thinkleet.de/cwm/CWMGui.apk

Thanks! Is this just for the Note? Sounds like it could be more widely applicable.

    Here is his quote:

Apparently if you are running a modded CWM version 4 or higher it should work.

Do let us know, Ronnie. If it works, this can be moved to the Apps section.

This apk is compiled for Android 10 so it should run on GB and ICS. Or more specifically Android 2.3.3 and up.

I think the only catch is that it can't be used with any of the official CWM recoveries. Mine is modified so it works great.

The Backup only feature will be fixed.

This is going to save a lot of fingering.
