    Email issue with Galaxy Note

Help! Emails I want to leave in my inbox disappear in less than 24hrs; however, any emails I delete stay in the trash forever (so far). I've had this phone for a week and all emails deleted from the inbox remain in the "trash". I'd like for any emails I leave in the inbox to stay there until I delete them. I do not mind if "trash" emails delete after 24 hrs! Email setting is set to leave emails on the server for 1 day. But once an email is downloaded, it should stay right? Is there a setting I have missed??? I had left an email with important information to access later in the week in my inbox and it was Gone!! Could have been disastrous!! Samsung Galaxy Note

Are you using the stock email app on the phone? I suggest switching to an alternate email application from the Market.

I strictly use Gmail with the Gmail app. Are your settings correct?

You could try K9 or forward your comcast to a Gmail account. I have an ISP email account as well, but have never used it.

What I like about gmails trash is that it stays there for a month unless you physically dump the trashcan.

Have you tried an alternate email app?

This is how my gmail works. If I use a computer, tablet, or phone to access my email any changes that I have made are reflected across the devices. If I read an email on my phone the next time that I launch my gmail from computer the same email is already marked as read. My mail doesn't disappear. With the exception of the trash. Anything sitting in the trash for 30 days is systematically removed.

Have you forwarded your pop3 to a gmail account?

POP3 is a "dumb" protocol. All it does it download the messages to your Inbox. If you choose to delete them, then they will go to Trash, locally stored on the device until you manually remove them.

Unfortunately, it does not look like Comcast supports IMAP(it takes up a lot of resources on a mail server). IMAP keeps an open connected with the server, and pushes new emails to you as they come in. This is how the GMail app works, and how I set up all of my GMail account on my computers, phones and tablets.

I think forwarding to a gmail account would work fine.
