Problem with ODIN Galaxy Note 2 international

I was gifted a Samsung Galaxy note 2 the international version N7100. Samsung gave it to my Boss and my Boss gave it to me. The phone came factory unlocked but it could not get a signal. I decided to install a new ROM into it. I was just looking for the original stock rom. I tried to install it but i get the message on the screen that tells me to use KIES to restore. KIES wont recognize the phone. I try using ODIN but it just fails. I am almost sure i am using an incorrect ROM- maybe from another region. But it being international im trying with the United Kingdom ROM. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
