I don't think the phone is modified it still on gingerbread and run android 2.3.6, i was trying to update it to ics 4.0.4 and that's where the troubles started to happen :P ...

Ok. This is 4.0.4 for AT&T. Download it and extract it once using 7Zip.

Download mode your phone and flash it in the PDA slot of Odin.

Then you must root your phone and flash the TMo modem firmware or you will be stuck with Tmos edge data network.

Hey guys Im new to the forum and been trying to read and get help. I was trying to upgrade the to ice cream sandwich and it froze. The only screen im able to get says.

I've tried all steps with firmware and in odin it keeps saying "FAIL" above the yellow box. I need help please!

One of our Rescue Squad guys will be by in awhile to give you a hand, but I have a question of my own - where are you getting the upgrade from? Is it something your phone advised you of (you have an upgrade ready to download), or did you download it from a website? The reason I ask is because we've had several people who have a US version of the phone and tried to install the upgrade for the international version...with disastrous results.

Try this method it help me get through that odin info screen and update my phone to ics 4.0.4, first u need to download kies and connect ur phone to kies via usb cable, and then on the top click on tools>firmware upgrade and intialization then enter ur S/N and model number behind the battery door, hit start and just sit back and wait for it to update ur phone to ics, i have to do this 2 times the first try fail just keep trying untill it pass, hope it work for u GL...

Hey thanks for the instant reply. I did download the upgrade from the forum and to be honest i have no idea if it was a US or Interational version =(. I'm most def a NOOB who should've did a little more research. Thanks for the help in advance.

Hey bro i tried the whole "kies" thing also and it doesn't read my phone. I tried to trouble shoot and still doesn't read it. I tried to restart my laptop, re-install "kies" and nothing. =( i think my phone is toast. I hope not. =(
