Kies PC Mode

I recently bought a Galaxy SII as a replacement for my old iPhone 3GS. In so far as I can see there is no way that I can sync the phone with my MS Outlook calendar and contacts, when I try to commect up to this kies application which I have downloaded to the laptop it tells me that I need to switch to Kies PC Mode but give no clue as to how I can do this. I'm fairly certain that I have all of the necessary drivers downloaded, not impressed if I have to go and download more. Quite frankly I'm at the end of my tether with this device and am thinking of taking it back to get an iPhone 4 which I know will do what I want it to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Well I only have a gs1 fascinate but if I remember correctly there should be a USB settings option somewhere in your settings if you find that you can put it in PC mode.
