What exactly do you mean by waisted? Kies is a great piece of software to make backups with. If you have a wireless network that your computer and phone are on then use Allshare to: Watch a movie on your phone that is stored on your computer and vice versa (the same can be done with music), transfer photos, music, movies, files, etc wirelessly, and stream your phone screen to your DLNA enabled televison.

Totally agreed with you, on the first week or so from buying the tab, kies did work, after that for some reazon which I dont understand and dont care to comprehend anymore, it stop working, so I dont use that piece or c****p software, instead I use mass storage access from my winxp netbook and off course syncing trough google docs, calendar and more! So my friend forget about it and just be happy!Cheers

Kies is a great piece of software???? You need to read "a lot more" of the blogs about that software and everyone that has had problems with it - that name and software has been "kicked more times than a soccer ball"!!!
Thanks for your help
I don't need to read anything. Blogs are opinionated. Kies works for me and has worked for me on multiple devices. Personally, I prefer root options better, but using Kies is far superior than drag and drop for non-rooted users. IMO iTunes sucks even though millions of users launch it everyday. It's all about user experience and they differ from person to person.
I have used Kies with a Samsung phone and a still use it with the 10.1 and intend to use it with the Note I am purchasing next weekish.
