I have just started to run into the same problem a couple of days ago. It doesn't do the boot loop on charger. I tried removing the battery and even updated my ROM (I had CM9 before and now I am on CM10). I removed the SD card. I did a cache wipe and a battery stats wipe. Nothing helped so far but I will keep trying to play around with the display settings as you did... if I find out what it was I will come back and tell my story.

Hi zerga - welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear you're having problems. If you still need help, after you finish testing the display settings, post back to the help area and we'll give you a hand.

I had this problem (rebooting almost constantly, lock button working intermittently, etc) and after reading this thread I realized the only thing I changed recently was screen timeout to 30s instead of 1 min. I just changed it back and so far so good.

Never mind. I thought it was working but not anymore. Its not as bad, but it is still doing it. This makes me think it is related to the screen timeout setting though. I left the screen on while backing it up so it auto-timed out and then when I tried to bring it back it restarted.

So I am going to put it on max time and see what happens.

edit: still happening. This is pretty stupid and appears to be a widespread issue, especially since ICS update. How about you fix it samsung?

Munkey, you need to understand that this forum is not owned or operated by Samsung, and the staff are not employees of Samsung, but are unpaid volunteers (and lovers of Android phones) who donate their time because they enjoy helping others solve problems.

lol I realize that. It was more of a open question saying "how can samsung allow their phones to have such a big issue and not fix it?"

Anyway, back on topic - since changing to 5 min screen timeout my phone restarted twice right after adjusting it, but has been fine since.

I don't think I did anything else but I may have. Anyone with this problem try changing your screen timeout setting.

Removing sd card out solved my rebooting problem. Maybe it was bad sd card.
