Phone keeps rebooting

Friday afternoon i ran into a rather strange situation with my phone. ive had my Galaxy S2 for just over two months. my carrier is US Cellular. Everytime the phone went to sleep mode or the display went black itwould start this cycle of reboots until the battery dies. stopped at the store to have someone look into this. my first thought was the battery, after replacing it the problem still exsisted. their tech team tried a factory reset. still didnt resolve the problem. when the phone is charging it doesnt do the reboot cycle. After sitting at the store for a couple hours they decided to send it in for warranty. im getting my new replacement phone on tuesday.
Has anyone else run into this problem?

The lady that was helping me at the store never seen this either. I miss my phone though. At least they gave me a Samsung Mesmerize as a loaner.

Sweet. A loaner phone? That was cool of them. Hopefully another S2 will arrive shortly.

I wonder if they will ever say what was wrong with yours? It seems strange that it was boot looping like that.

Well I'll be getting a refurb phone on tuesday in the mail. thats why i got the loaner. I doubt I will find out what happened to it. they will fix it and put it in the pool of refurbs.

I am currently waiting for one to arrive via post as well. I ordered one for a coworker since the prices here are absorbent compared to the U.S. Hopefully it makes the trip half way around the world lol.

My granddaughter and I both have the Galaxy S2 and updated to ICS. Her phone started the constant rebooting after that but mine did not. So we went through the settings on both phones and made them match. Now, here is the problem. I don't remember which setting we changed but it was only one setting. If your problems continue, check them one by one. It was not something that I needed often (like wifi) but may have been something as simple as the length of time before the phone locks (like 5 seconds instead of 5 minutes). I know this is not specific, but it solved the problem.
