New calendar appointments created on SG2 turn into meeting requests in Outlook

Please help! When I create a new appointment on my SG2, it shows up in Outlook as a meeting invitation, not an appointment. After trying to use Kies unsuccessfully to sync my phone's calendar to Outlook, I configured my phone to sync to my Google calendar, and then have my Google calendar syncing to Outlook on my laptop using Google Sync. All is going well for the most part. I can enter an appointment in Outlook and have it appear in Google calendar and on my phone successfully. I can enter an appointment in Google calendar and have it appear on my phone and in Outlook successfully. But if I'm out and about and enter an appointment into my phone, it appears successfully in Google calendar but it appears as a meeting invitation (not an appointment) in Outlook after syncing. Basically, in Outlook, it looks like I am inviting myself to that appointment, and I can't even "accept" these invitations. I've seen other posts about this issue but I haven't found anyone with a solution. Do you have one?

New calendar appointments created on SG2 turn into meeting requests in Outlook

I am experiencing the same very frustrating issue. I have had limited success in resolving it by logging into GMail and deleting the invitation to myself! However, sometime it comes back if Outlook has already synced to the invitation. Surely there is a way to change the default appointment type in the Samsung Galaxy SII Calendar (assume it is Android standard calendar) so that there are no invitees and it is just a plain old appointment?
