Took me a few days to finally decide to try it out and i'm pleased to say it worked. Thanks a million guys.

Just a few notes though on the route that I took:

I downloaded the firmware using the link you provided. No matter how much I tried, I got one zip file with 4 files inside. The PIT, Modem, PDA and CSC files.

I also used the method detailed in the GT-9100 upgrade guide from SAMMOBILE dotcom.

Checked the debugging option in the app setup.
I checked the three options - Repartition, AutoReboot and F.Reset Time in ODIN
I included all 4 files in the ODIN file paths.
Clicked on START (after doing download mode and connecting via usb)
    and Presto.

Device rebooted, now using Android 4.0.4. Contacts and other stuff were wiped as expected so I just restored em using Kies.

It looks that I'm one more to have bricked his Galaxy S2.

I can enter download mode and recovery mode (although I don't have CWM, so no Darvik wipe). The main difference with the rest of the people in the forum is that I don't have a Windows machine, so I use Heimdall on linux.

I bricked my phone after trying to upgrade to ICS with the method described here:

    https://www.2realities.com/howtos/em..._with_heimdall

So, as you can see, I flashed all the files in the tar.md5 files (boot.bin, cache.img, factoryfs.img, hidden.img, modem.bin, param.lfs, Sbl.bin, zImage). The phone starts to boot but it blocks at the screen saying "Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100". I waited about half an hour because I read that the first boot takes longer. I never get to the stylized S with changing colors. The only way to power it off is to removed the battery.

I tried, with the same method, to flash the stock firmware I found here:

Hotfile.com: One click file hosting: I9100BULPD_I9100SFRLP8_SFR.zip

and wipe the data and cache, but nothing changed. Unsuccessfully, I also tried with stock firmwares for other companies. I'd like to try with a stock gingerbread, but I don't find one for my carrier (SFR).

My carrier is SFR in France. Actually, I use one of those "virtual" carriers that uses SFR's network. I bought a SFR second hand phone, but I bought it unlocked.

While flashing, the blue line moves normally on the phone, but I noticed that the count of downloads always stays at 1.

Can anyone help me please? Thanks in advance.

The problem seems to be worst than I thought. I borrowed a Windows machine from a friend and used Kies as described in one of the first posts (Launch Kies, put the phone in download mode, plug the phone to the USB port). Kies sees the phone and tries to connect, but after a long wait it declares it has failed and recommends me to reboot the phone (thing already done). On the other side, on the phone I see the download screen, but the blue progress line never starts.

However, when I flash from linux with heimdall, the blue line shows the flashing progress (but as already mentioned, the count stays at 1).

Well, it's finally working. I tried a few more stock firmwares that didn't work (even Odin crashed when I tried to flash one of them). But one of the formwares got me past the "Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100" message up to the stylized S with changing colors, where it hanged again. But at this point I used again Odin from the borrowed Windows PC and reflashed exactly the same files that got me to the S. After this step, the phone is working again.

This makes me think that there was a problem in Heimdall and/or Linux as the same files worked when flashed by Odin.

    Hope this helps somebody else.

Me, too. And I used the .pit file in this topic to unbricked: PIT file method to revive your phone from a MMC_CAP_ERASE brick - xda-developers.

    It work!

    Have fun!

It'll be great if anyone can help me to brick SGS2.

My carrier is Singtel from Singapore.

This all started after I rooted my phone with CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXX_LPB-v5.2-CWM5-PROPER.zip since updating my firmware to the latest version.

Now I'm unable to startup my phone. It just shows the boot screen with yellow triangle and disappears after a brief moment.

The good news is I'm still able to go into Recovery and Download mode. However, all attempts at wiping cache (even Dalvik) and hard reset do not help at all.

Now, if someone were to help me out of this quandary, I'll appreciate it much!!

Yes, my firmware was already ICS before I rooted the phone.

Here is the latest ICS for Singtel, Singapore.

    http://www.hotfile.com/dl/161500056/...A_SIN.zip.html

Extract it once using 7Zip on your pc and flash it via Odin in the PDA slot. If it is a firmware of more than one part then load the tar files in each slot.
