Feel like a dummy! Setting default folder for music files?

I'm usually pretty good with this type of thing. Just got the Galaxy S 2 today and am getting most everything set up ok. I looked thru the native music ap and can see no way to tell it where to find my music files. I manually loaded all my mp3 into the USB storage area and also used itunesagent to load and sync them from my Itunes but when I launch the native "Music" player, it sees no music files and I don't see a place to tell it where to look. (Coming to Android from years on an iphone) Sorry my first post has to be a "help wanted" one.

Welcome to the forum. Have you rebooted your phone since loading the music. If not, try that and see if The media scanner picks up your music then.

Thank you for the quick reply. I've now rebooted twice and saw the "media scanner working - media scanner complete" messages on the top of the screen twice for each of the two reboots buy no joy! (No music listed when running the "music" ap) There is only a few seconds duration between each "media scanner working" and "Media scanning complete" messages.

Yea it doesn't take long generally unless you pull the sd card out... Then it will take longer, not like it should matter because it is the whole point behind media scanner, but, are the files sitting in a "music" folder, if not, make a music folder on the root off your sd card and drop a file in there, reboot see if it works.

Well, now I feel like a dummy again. itunesAgent had me create the "Music" sub-folder in the "external_SD" sub folder. Simply dragged it to the root and all is well! Thank you!
