Not sure if this will help you. When in such as messaging, I tap the cursor on screen so that the little blue arrow pops up, tapping the blue arrow once brings up the clipboard icon for me to select. I can then scroll to see all the items on the clipboard. To delete one of them, I simply long hold it.
Finding clipboard on messaging is correct. Just tried it.
