I was rooting my telephone with Odin, Odin failed and now I am getting an error.
Odin Mode
Product Name: SGH-T989
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Official
phone icon--yellow triangle with exclamation--computer icon
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
I cannot enter download mode and I have tried to reflash with Odin. Odin fails everytime. How do I recover the phone?

Reddit!You cannot use Odin without entering download mode. If you can get your hands on a USB Jig it will enter download mode for you when you boot the phone.
Make sure nothing Kies related is running in the background of your computer or Odin will not work.

is a JIG the only way? which one do I get? I am completely new to this part of rooting. My last phone worked fine when rooting, same method, same model. I accidentally fully bricked my last phone.

yes, when boot goes straight to that screen, no button combinations work, etc.

make sure you are using the stock cable that shipped with your phone.
The USB Jig is on ebay for about 5 bucks.

Install the driver package as well. Run the task manager on your computer and kill anything related to Samsung.
Which recovery do you have (volume up+power button)? The stock <3re> or CWM?
