Download and unzip Odin 1.85 on your PC.
Download and unzip this firmware one time on your PC. You will end up with a single .tar file.
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/162757936/...8_SER.zip.html
Launch Odin as administrator (right click the Odin.exe)
Select the PDA slot and load the firmware tar file.
Put your phone into download mode and then connect it to the PC. Odin will turn yellow and ID COM will have a number in it.
Press Start and let the phone reboot on its own. It might take a couple of minutes to reboot.
After that let it sit for 5 minutes and perform a factory data reset.

Ok, things are different now.
After tryinn to install four ICS roms without success i tried the Portuguese Rom of Gingerbread... and it works.
I recovered all the information but now i have another problem, the S2 is extremely slow, the keys and the touchscreen takes 10 seconds to react, i tried again the ICS rom without success then i put the Gingerbread again, any idea what's wrong whit my S2?
Do a factory data reset on the phone.

Hi Ollie,
I tried downloading Ice Cream Sandwich onto my SII today and now I keep getting a Samsung start screen with a error icon below.
I used the ODIN software to do the installation.
I'm in the Cayman Islands.
My Service Provider is LIME.
My phone is a GT-I9100
Can you help me out please.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I'm trying to get my cousin's GT-I9100 back to stock for repairing the home button under warranty.
I followed the instructions posted on How to go back to a stock Android ROM on Samsung Galaxy S2 | Reviews | CNET UK
However when it rebooted it hang on the start screen with the big graphical S and Samsung Galaxy S II at the bottom.
Now remember the home button is broken so I could not get back into download, or recovery mode. So I got one of those download mode dongles from ebay.
That's working fine and get's me back into download mode. But no Rom I've tried to restore have given me any different result. Even tried to re-root and load a custom ROM. Still stuck on the start screen![]()
Any advice?
Thanks
Hello Supervan! Which country and which Telecom do you use?
Once you flash a firmware you might consider rebooting into recovery mode to do a factory data reset.

UK on the Three network. Problems is I cannot boot into recovery as the home button is broken.Anyway it's of no use now as it seems I've completely bricked it now. Won't even go into download mode using the dongle anymore. I pulled the cord while Odin seemed to be hanging and I gave it about an hour to finish a repartition. The only hope is that it had wiped enough now that when my cousin sends it in under warranty, that they won't see and evidence of rooting and custom ROMS! I suspect there's nothing else I can try?
