Samsung galaxy s2 hangs on restart after automatic firmware update!! :(

I have the same problem after updating the firmware of my Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) yesterday, it comes to the glowing S and then it gets stuck there (tried to keep it overnight, but still stuck in the morning). Can someone help? I have tried factory reset etc. but does not work... I live in Finland, phone is bought here and my mobile company is Sonera. I would be extremly grateful if someone could help me. I have a back-up for everything except for the sms logg, and if possible I would like to save that. Thanks in advance!

I'm sure you know the situation by now, GT-I9100 isn't booting after an OTA update to ICS. My carrier is Tesco Mobile (uses the same network as O2-UK) and I'm in the UK.... I haven't read the whole thread so did anyone mention where all these files specific to the carrier are coming from? It might be more useful than just a download link.

Problem after failed firmware update.

I tried to Update my Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100G) using Odin 1.85
the Phone shut down before finishing the update. At that point I could not start my S2 the only picture I got was a black screen with a phone a “!” in a yellow triangle and a computer. I tried to upload the firmware again with Odin but it failed every time. I tried using Kies but it could not find the phone. I googled the problem to find a solution that could work and I tried several solutions without luck. But at last i tried the following advice see link:

I downloaded the .tar file that was referred to:
KERNEL_XWLPO.tar

and Odin worked and this file was downloaded. The problem is that now i only get the start page with the text Samsung Galaxy S2 with a yellow triangle "!" in the bottom. I tried plugging it to the USB port on my computer but it can't see the phone anymore and Odin and Kies can't see it so I can't upload another firmware.

Friends..pls help me i was having ginger bread on my galaxy s2. Yesterday i tried to update it to Icecream sandwich. It got installed and after reboot, again another update started and suddenly it notified that update is not successful and it automatically rebooted. After starting, it hanged up in the 'Samsung galaxy s2' black screen itself. I tried to restart by holding the power button, after restarting, it again got stuck with the same screen. Later i removed battery and tried to start it. Did this 2-3 times. Now the phone is completely dead. No response whatsoever I bought this phone from India (unlocked). At present im in US using T-mobile sim in it. Can anyone suggest me a way forward??

Dear all,

I am having the same problem with my Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G. It had Android v2.3.4 initially and I tried updating the firmware. I installed the firware twice and it hangs at the first screen after installing the 2nd update. I tried all the factory resets but no luck. I am from India and my service provider is Airtel. Please help.

I have the same problem: My galaxy S2 won't start-up after firmware update.
It's a branded phone by Vodafone in the Netherlands.
