How to Upgrade Gingerbread to ICS? ( Model No: SHW-M250S)

I have bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 phone from Korea (T-Mobile). Model No.: SHW-M250S. Firmware Version- 2.3.5,Gingerbread.

I like to upgrade to ICS. Pls anybody suggest me how to do this with this model and the genuine source of ICS.

Is model number matters when upgrade to ICS?

The model number does matter! If you upgrade your phone with another model's ICS your phone won't work anymore.

I will look and see if you have an update available.

This is the ICS for South Korea:

    http://hotfile.com/dl/149498372/d146...REV02.zip.html

    Download it and unzip it.

It has to be flashed with Odin 1.85.

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...3&d=1304094576

^ Download and unzip that too.

You should do a factory reset before flashing this. It is located inside of the Settings app on your phone. It will say Factory Data Reset. Make a backup of your files first!

    To flash it with Odin,
    1. Unplug your phone from your computer and turn the phone off.
    2. Press and hold Volume Down+Home Button+Power Button until you are in download mode. If your computer starts installing drivers then let it finish.
    3. Right Click on the Odin.exe and select Run As Administrator.
    4. Plug your phone into the computer using the factory USB cable.
    5. A box in Odin will turn yellow in color and ID Com will show a random number.
    6. In Odin select "PDA" and load the firmware you downloaded before.
    7. Press Start.
    8. Do not interrupt the phone while Odin is flashing the software!! The phone will reboot on its own
    9. Let the phone start up completely and then do another factory data reset.

Dear Ollie, I'm in the middle of downloading the software. But pls never mind, is there any chance for crushing or any malfunction anyway after installing it?
Regarding your Point No. 1> why should I unplug the phone from computer...because it will remain unplugged that time. (I'm downloading software by using another device, not thru this mobile internet.)

There is always a chance that the software flash may not work. You can do things like making sure you have at least 50% battery charge on the phone and making very sure you do not move the phone or the USB cable while the software is flashing.

You can't enter download mode properly if the phone is plugged into your computer with USB. Download mode is how you flash software and if it isn't enabled properly you can have problems. So, just make sure it is unplugged from the computer before entering download mode.

Thanks again. Both the files downloaded properly, but the ICS file isn't opening in my PC (windows 7).

OK. The ICS file will be loaded into Odin when you select PDA. You have to unzip it once using 7zip or winrar. The file will end up being a tar file.

The tar file is selected by Odin. You can't use it any other way without getting even more technical.

    Urgent!!

    URGENT:
I followed all instruction till run the Odin and then connecting the phone to the PC. But thing isn't happening like>>
"A box in Odin will turn yellow in color and ID Com will show a random number."
So I couldn't proceed. Then I detached the phone, Uninstall & Install the Kies again and followed the procedure from the beginning but the same result.
Now my phone is just freeze & showing the Green color Android sign, no button is working.
    WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?

Odin isn't turning yellow because the drivers are not installing. Get into download mode again and try a different USB port. Are you using the Samsung USB cable that comes with the phone?
