    Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.

Hi, I bought a new cellphone the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE. I bought it used so it was unlocked and i was have been using it and it worked well.

But today i decided to upgrade the firmware. (I Believe it was to Ice Cream Sandwich). I upgraded it using Kies. I upgraded and everything was working well. The only thing i noticed is that it wasn't rooted anymore. And i wanted to remove some default apps that came with the phone.

So i follow the instructions on this website:

Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100: How to root your phone running Android 4.0.3 ICS firmware XWLPG

I followed the instructions but it did not work it said FAIL and now my phone isn't working. All i get is:

Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.

Help! I don't know what to do.

    On the phone it says

    ODIN MODE
    Product Name: SGH-I727R
    Custome Binary Download: No
    Current Binary: Samsung Official

The phone is originally bought from Rogers but now i am using it on the Bell Network

When i open Odin3v1.85.exe it sees the phone it says Added

How can i restore it back? Do i need some special file? I dont know which file i need.

    Please help!

Well it seems my phone is rooted and unlocked.. But i cannot remove default programs.

When i open Titanium Backup. I get this message: "Error I could not acquire root privileges..... "

I have the Super User app I opened it and it says Outdated binary

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. And same thing.

    Anyways know about this problem?

So i am a little confused

There should be an option to update the binaries inside of the SU app. Otherwise you can always download SU from its webpage and flash it.

The reason you got stuck is because the thread you posted is not for your phone!

Download the SU app from the Market or download it from here:
    http://hosted.androidsu.com/superuser/

Did you ever get the proper firmware onto your phone?

Boot into CWM and flash the zip file.

Or reflash the root kernel you tried to obtain root with.

Well after almost 2 weeks of fighting with my cellphone. Everything is working well. But not before messing up my phone many times.

I did what you told me and it worked well. But the thing where i went wrong was that i flashed an older version of Superuser.zip

    Superuser downloads | /superuser
and than my phone wouldnt boot, Once i got the newest version it worked well.

    I also used this method.

    [MOD] ROOT | CWM | ODIN | SGH-I727 and SGH-I727R Skyrocket - xda-developers

It really makes me mad companies install all this junk on our phones and lock our phones. We should protest. I really hate cellphone companies

Now my life feels complete... thanks for helping!
