    Welcome to the forum Duaa!
Go into Settings, Application Manager, All, scroll down to Messaging, click on "clear cache". Then reboot phone. See if that works for ya.

If that doesn't work, you may try downloading a third party app from the Play Store, like GoSms or Handcent, both very good messaging apps.
    Good luck!

    Unfortunately, messaging has stopped.

    Model: GT-S7562
    Software: ICS

I also face a similar problem & upon trying to fix this I mistakenly force stopped the application, the result was that the Messaging Icon got disappeared from main screen as well as from "Apps"

    Fix method as i tried:
    1. Go to settings
    2. Application Manager
    3. You will see 3 tabs Downloaded - Running - All
    4. The Messaging which is in disabled mode was listed in the bottom & it was not showing in alphabetic order (therefore we may assume that the app has
disappeared) Now click to the app & set to enable & restart (better) the phone , Now you will find the "Messaging " listed in Apps, therefore you can drag & move the app to required screen (desktop).
