My phone is stuck on the firmware upgrade error message, please help!

I have a sgs2 from sprint. i was trying to root my phone, but when it ended the firmware error came up and nothing i have done has been able to fix it. I have tried to do a hard reset by going into the recovery menu (Volume up + power), but the phone simply goes black for a few seconds and then the firmware error comes back. I have also tried going into download mode, which works, but Odin does not detect my device. I am pretty sure that the drivers for my phone are up to date so i don't know why my pc doesn't see the phone. If anyone could help i would appreciate it

There is some info needed:

What tutorial did you use to root the phone? I just went through this process with two of them. I have found, personally, that the XDA forum is a little confusing.

If you can, can you tell me the phone information. What version of Android are you running? Do you know what baseband you were on?

It took me a little while to find all the stuff I needed to Root, Flash a new recovery (gotta be careful, some of them will brick the phone) and load a ROM.

So let's start from the beginning.

Thanks for the reply. I used the tutorial from Android Authority. My phone has gingerbread, but I'm not sure about the baseband.

Completely uninstall the drivers from your computer. Install them again. Pull the battery out of the phone just to clear all power from it. I also think there might be a trick where you can power up the phone plugged in to the computer, and then putting the battery back in, but I am not sure what it accomplishes.

I tried it but still no luck. im not sure there's anything else to do

Have you tried a different USB port on the computer? A different computer? A different USB cable?

You can try to push a recovery using ADB.

I have the same issue as Seb, can you help me with what you're talking about ?
