Yes, the GT-i9100 is the international version. Although it may be possible I have never heard of any American version surviving a foreign firmware flash.

You can know for certain by typing *#1234# into your phone's dialer.

For your wallpapers try Resize Image Live or Image2Wallpaper from the market.

I tried dialing that number and nothing happened. After calling, the electronic operator "Invalid number".

Also, is there a link to ICS 4.0.4 that's pre-rooted? Since there's such bugs and such with 4.0.3, I think I'd rather flash to 4.0.4.

Alright. You have a phone that can permanently hard brick when flashing from an ICS to an ICS rom. It looks like it has been fixed in a kernel, but you may want to read up on it some more. Here is more than you will probably want to know about your phone lol : [ROOT][NCIQ][EG30/EG31/EK02] Auto root your existing stock ROM (w/o ODIN/ROM Flash) - xda-developers

Wait... so that means flashing my ROM is dangerous? (I have two phones). The one that's completely messed up is with Sprint. My other one has Android 4.0.3 and I'd like to flash it to 4.0.4 later. Eventually, I'd like to get it rooted on 4.0.4.

Just called Sprint regarding my other phone and they said "now it won't boot up". We're headed over there now to see what's going on. If it's true, then I believe they messed it up even more. Because I could at least get into download mode, but it did me no good since the computers wouldn't recognize it.

Sure it is dangerous. The devs fixed that though. You just have to find out what kernel they did it with.

The key seems to be either flash back to GB before flashing another ICS rom or get the kernel that has been fixed. This isn't just your device. Many Samsung devices have this bug.

    Oh, I see.

    Well can't I just flash from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4?

You can. Just keep in mind that flashing from ICS to ICS can be dangerous. Does it mean it will happen to you? Not at all. I'm just not lucky like that lol.

The issue lies on the kernel level. Some kernels allow a wipe of data that should never be touched. Especially while flashing in recovery. I would do a little research on which kernel the devs have cooked up that circumvents that.

    Oh, I didn't know that.
Is there a link for the original stock version of Gingerbread? I suppose I should flash to Gingerbread (2.5) which is what I had and then later flash to 4.0.4.

And is there a reliable link for 4.0.4 stock ROM?

I think Greenfroggie has your version of the phone so he may be better able to assist you than I, but here is the development section for your phone: Epic 4G Touch Android Development - xda-developers

Ok, so I got the phone back from Sprint and turns out, they didn't accomplish anything.

I've got the phone back and am in the same situation as before. Download mode is still there, but computers don't recognize the phone. Any simple ideas in mind?
