Post Update on S2 went a little wrong???

Hi people, please excuse the jumping in purely for advise

I had my SGS2 for 6-8 months, done ICS update a little while ago all fine through Klies. The other day I got an auto-update window come up on my phone while I was at work which I just told to do. After a couple restarts my phone just stuck on the start up screen (3rd one in after carrier). After this I have gone and got Odin 1.85 and tried to install the I9100XXLPQ file that is supposed to be for 3G UK, this failed when it got to the boot.bin part and made my phone do nothing at all. I went and got the GTI-9100_ICS_BOOTLOADER which got it running again and then the CSC_I9100H3GLP2 file which got it back to where it was after the failed update, I have gone round in this circle a few times now though and am not getting any further???

    Carrier: 3 uk
    Model Number: SAMSUNG-SGS2-I9100
Android version: 4 (well it was before it died)
Baseband version: sorry I am not sure what this means?
    Kernel version: 2.6.35.11
Build number: ICS 4 (or was)

Sorry to sound dumb now but would that mean putting new bootloader and CSC files also or??? I am a little out of my depth?

    Thanks for answering

    CSC, yes.
Bootloader, maybe not. Kinda unsure about that one.
