Video Recorder Stops and Freezes

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 which I've had for about a week. When I went to record a video of my daughter, it stopped itself at about 40 seconds. No error message or anything. When I tried to start recording again, the screen was frozen. After hitting the home button, it force closed and I was able to open my camera back up. It has two numbers that are counting down in the bottom right corner when its recording. Also a few pictures I've taken won't open. I can see them when I'm looking at my gallery as a whole but when I try to actually look at the picture, it's all gray. Help!!
