    Backups no longer working, error: "Unfortunately, wssyncmlnps has stopped."

    Until recently, my backups through Samsung Kies worked relatively problem free. Now, when I try to backup, "Unfortunately, wssyncmlnps has stopped." pops up on the phone and the backup fails.

    I've done the usual Googling and I can see I'm not alone with this problem but I can't seem to find a solution that works. So, I thought I'd contact Samsung Customer Care about it and their response was a generic and unhelpful "The issues you are experiencing are being caused by a software glitch on the handset. A hard reset will be the only way to solve these issues."

    REALLY? That's so Apple! Surely, there's a better way than blowing everything away. Has anyone else come across this problem and solved it? Any suggestions?

    Did anything change when the problem started? I.E. software update on the phone and/or PC, download of a particular app, etc.

    Kind of hard to pin-point an exact change that caused it; with so many apps installed, there's updates every other day :-( Added to that, I don't backup that regularly to know exactly when it stopped. I usually make sure I backup just before an Android update although, I didn't get to backup before the last 4.0.4 udpate because it had stopped working. So, I guess, it stopped working when on version 4.0.3.

    Unfortunately I have absolutely no experience with Kies. Have you tried uninstalling the program on your PC and installing it again?

    Yep. Although, I'm pretty sure the problem is on the GS2 (wssyncmlnps having stopped.) I have, since the backup problem started, also uninstalled Kies and installed the latest version. No difference.

    I did a quick Google search of "wssyncmlnps has stopped" and found that it's a widespread issue due to incompatibility between ICS and Kies. I didn't dig real deep but looked through the first handful of links without finding a solution. Perhaps there is one burried there somewhere.

    Yeah, same. I'm an IT Consultant / PC technician, myself so, Google was my first port of call :-) Once I exhausted most results without any success, I contacted Samsung Support and they suggested a hard reset which I'm not keen on. I've read amongst the many horror stories that after a hard reset other instability issues have surfaced for some. If anything, I just don't think that's teh best way to solve a problem.

    So, everything considered, I thougt I'd try my luck with a post on a relevant forum, like this one in case someone else has solved the issue for themselves without a hard reset.

    All this, when really, Samsung should be solving this problem with an update and soon!

    Yeah that's what I was thinking, surely an ICS compatible version of Kies will be along sooner than later. Good luck with it.

    I have the same problem. Backup worked fine with the previous release of Kies

    Can you get a previous version of Kies ??
