Hi,
I use a Galaxy SII purchased in India in 2011. Then i travelled to the USA on work and was there for a year. I tried to upgrade the OS or the firmware using Kies but it threw the error "Your device does not support software upgrading via Kies". I also tried the "Check for Update" under the About phone menu in the phone. Then after searching through a few forums, i found out that since i had purchased the phone in India and using it in the USA i could't upgrade it as the CSC code was indian.
I am back in India now and still when i check for software updates in the phone, it says " No update available". I tried updating the Kies app as well. but still it throws the same error "Your device does not support software upgrading via Kies" .
My phone has a CSC code ODD which i found out is the region code for INDIA among other countries. I also found out in one of the forums that ICS upgrade has been launched for this region. Still i am not able to upgrade using Kies.
Can someone please tell me why is this happening and what do i need to do in order to upgrade using Kies? I do NOT want to play with the root of the phone or anything which will wipe everything in the phone out. Kindly Suggest.
CSC: I9100ODDKF3
Thanks in Advance.
Vijay.
