Voltage too high. Charging paused.

I started getting this message when I plugged my phone into the Samsung Auto Charger. I also discovered that this error comes up when I charge on my in-home Samsung Charger. It is a sporadic problem. Now when it appears the phone is charging, it is actually discharging. Charging is slow and it rarely reaches 50%.

I just had this start happening last week. I would plug in my phone overnight and the next morning it would only have about 70% battery. Then I noticed the "Charging Paused, Voltage Too High" error shortly afterwards. I called Sprint Customer Service, they were in the process of issuing me a new phone. Then all of a sudden my phone wouldn't charge with the factory cord / charger. I bought a new cable and the phone has charged perfect ever since. No "Charging Paused, Voltage Too High" warning since. So, my advice would be to try another charger first. If that doesn't fix the problem, then maybe the charging port.....

Thanks for your advice. I cannot get my unit charged beyond 3%. I am going to bring it to Bell Mobility (Canada) where I purchased it and get them to look into my problem. I popped the battery out and cleaned the contacts but still no luck. It is as if the charging process is shorting, hence high voltage message and stop charge behaviour. There is nothing worse than waking up in the morning to find a night of charging yields and empty battery.

I have a feeling that it's more of a motherboard circuit problem
