When conected to Computer I only can transfer files from USB NOT SD

With my Galaxy S Blaze I can't seem to transfer my files from my SD to my computer. I can transfer files from phone USB storage. This was never a problem with my Nexus one. How do I fix this? Thanks guys.
Oh yeah no one every gave me any useful advice on how to fix my update issue too.
I get a notice I have a firmware update from T-Mobile but when I choose the update the phone goes through it's reboot process then says that it can't update, try using Kies. so now every couple hours I have to postpone this update & see the update icon in my upper tool bar & I'm sick of it. Thanks for the help.

not sure about the SD card but I believe the oonly way u can update anybSAMAUNG phone is through KIES?

I have never used KIES and have already applied three updates to my OS on my Samsung Galaxy SII from Sprint. Unfortunately, with two of the three updates I have lost necessary or convenient features. Is there a way to go back to Gingerbread?
