Latest firmware update will not install

Hi I have sgs-II GT-I9100 running android 4.0.3 for the past few days I have been prompted that there is a new update available. I select install it down loads then starts the install process. The phone restarts the android logo is displayed and the blue progress bar starts to move gets about half way then the phone restarts again and error is displayed unable to install update try installing with kies or visit Samsung service centre. Any ideas?

What problem did you have when you attempted your install with Kies? Did you download the Samsung drivers onto your PC before attempting to use Kies? (make sure you download the correct drivers for your model phone. You can get them free off the Samsung website. I don't have a link for you, but just Google Samsung drivers and your phone model.

Similar problem with kies it just times out.Kies can see current firmware version is: PDA:LP8/PHONE:LPS/CSC:LP4(OPS) Latest firmware version is: PDA:LPW/PHONE:LQ6/CSC:LP6(QPS)

Finally managed to update this morning. Now at version 4.0.4.Kies did an update on the PC then the update went through fine.
