My name is Mark. Just got the Fascinate for my wife with the stock 2.2 Froyo on it. Running on PPC and she likes facebook, youtube and game apps. What is the recommended ROM for someone like this? I would like to put on ICS, but is there one stable for her to use? She will not like anything buggy in it. Haven't installed ROM's since the omnia, so I am rusty with it.

Welcome to the forum Mark! Check out "Android open kang project" in our Fascinate development section. It's a pretty stable ICS port for the Fascinate. Just make sure to read, re-read & read again so you have a full understanding of what you're doing. Give a holler if you run into any problems or have any questions.

Hello All,

My name is Darren and my username RedVee14 is in relation to my favourite rugby league team
St.Helens R.L and for those who are unfamiliar with the best sport on earth the afore mentioned are famously known for the Red Vee that is etched on the chest of that famous team jersey and the 14 is taken from one of the saints players squad numbers,put the two together and you have RedVee14.

My current mobile is the Samsung Galaxy SII (GT-19100) which i have had for just over a year and is basically my wife that ive never had and like many people cant do without(the phone not the wife!!!! LOL) and i have now come across my first obstacle with it which i truly hope can be expertly explained by the experts on the forum, i have looked at other posts to see if a solution to my problem is out there but please excuse me and accept my apologies for any repatition to my issue in advance as ive only just learned how to turn the T.V on!!!

The problem im having is this, my battery was low so as normal i powered my phone down and put it on charge via mains charger, once fully charged i unplugged charger powered phone on as normal but for what ever reason it wont pass the logo stage, the logo stays live by live i mean the colours still flash through the "S" but wont goto next screen which should be my unlock screen.

Welcome to the forum Darren!!
Until our resident GSII guru can stop by and offer some assistance, have you tried doing a 10 min battery pull? That usually clears up issues like this. No cheating though, make sure it's a full 10 min.
Let us know if that works and if not, one of our Rescue Squad members will be by soon to give you a hand.

Press and hold volume up+power button until it reboots into recovery. If the option is there then select wipe cache. If it isn't then you will have to select factory reset which will wipe the phone and restore the operating system as new.
