Hello sanz, and welcome to Samsung Galaxy Forums!
There is a way to get your phone to quiet down, I'm just not real sure what it is off the top of my head. While I am no tech expert, we are fortunate to have an outstanding group of guys known as the Rescue Squad, and they have ALL the answers to whatever problem you face. Hang on for awhile and one of them will swing by and give you a hand with your phone.
Welcome aboard my friend!![]()
Thanks![]()
As much as I love my phone talking to me (like my best friend)... it makes it hard to open ur phone secretly at work when it blasts out the time at you hehe

I have no idea if this will work but you can try.
Settings, Voice input and output, Text-to-speech settings, turn off Driving mode, this should turn off both call and messaging readout.
I don't know if those are enabled and causing the problem but its worth a shot.

Welcome to the forum./
to solve your problem go to settings/voice input and output/text to speech/driving mode settings ( be sure driving mode is checked)/ and make sure that unlock screen is NOT checked.
I believe this will solve your problem it works for me.
Hi ronnie. You answered his question before I got my answser completed. I assumed that he was not concerned about the other features in drfving mode being checked. Becuae I am legally blind I have the audio features checked with the exceptio of unlock screen. My only complaint is that on the Galaxy SII unlike the Galaxy S every time i turn on the phone I have to reset driving mode in order to get the features I want to work. Now if I could only find a work around around that I would be happy.
That's alright, good to know I was on the right track.
