Hello and welcome to the forum!

10 hours seems good if you can't put the phone down ...but keep in mind, these are smartphones with nice screens and fast processors we won't see stellar battery life like we did with non-smartphones. Battery life is a matter of tweaking your settings so that phone still functions how you want it too...good luck and enjoy!

Welcome to the forum! You picked a great phone. There are a few things you can do to increase battery life, but I don't fight it. I buy a few extra batteries. They are very inexpensive and with the fast boot time of that phone (the fastest I have ever witnessed) a battery swap takes no time at all.

If you would prefer to go the other route though you should start with decreasing your screen brightness as much as possible. Using pure black wallpers helps too since the phone uses no power to display the color black.

Stay off of cellular data as much as possible by using wifi. 3G and 4G/LTE murder the battery.

Keep the GPS off. I only turn it on when it is needed for driving. Location aware apps can turn it on so check out the notification bar from time to time.

Try backing out of apps using the back button instead of the home button. Otherwise they will continue to run in the background. To see backgrounded apps press and hold the home button and then select task manager.

Turn off syncing. Unless it is a business email account that absolutely has to be pushed immediately I would disable it in your Account settings.

Lastly, you can root your phone and freeze some of the unnecessary apps that you cannot stop with a task manager.
Living dangerously, to me, is eating spaghetti with a white shirt on.

10 hours is stand by mostly when im at work it just sits on my desk. when im using the phone constantly battery lasts a couple hours. I also have the brightness all the way down. I guess im not to worried since i do have a charger with me all time im just worried that when i don't have one on hand. Is there an extended battery that Samsung offers?

Thanks for all the warm welcomes
