Kies Issues

Hi everyone

I have a samsung galaxy s2 and installed Kies. I am trying to update to the ice cream sandwich. When I launch Kies, it DOES connect to my Samsung Galaxy S2 and it says UPDATE KIES. When I click on it, I get a message "A new version of samsung Kies (2.3.2.1206_9) is available. Do you want to update to the latest version now."

I have updated this SAME version 20 times and I can't rid of this, therefore, I can't get past it. I even uninstalled / reinstalled Kies and still same issue.

I have tried another pc, different usb and still same issue

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello golfergirl! That isn't an update to ICS. It is an update to your Samsung Kies application that you run on your PC.

You might try going to Sammy's site and redownloading the install file if you haven't already.

I know the Samsung Kies application is run on my pc. I have gone to the Samsung site and redownloading the install file many time. I need to know how to get past the stupid "A new version of samsung Kies (2.3.2.1206_9) is available. Do you want to update to the latest version now.". I have tried many things and I can't get past it.

It looks like you may have to wait it out until another update is pushed to Kies. Let me look around a bit.

The only mention that I saw where Kies was brain dead like this involved deleting everything Kies related from the PC and then installing an application called CCleaner and wiping any Kies registry items using CCleaner. Afterwards a fresh install of Kies fixed the problem. Tweaking the registry can be bad. CCleaner has been around forever though.

Sorry it too so long for me to reply back. I was able to use the ccleaner to wipe any Kies registry. Now I finally have ICS. Thanks for your help.

I am not able to connect S2 with Kies. It just says 'connectin" without actually doing anything. Installed & reinstalled kies 2 times but nothing is working.
