    Samsung Gal S2

Just got new phone and am having difficulty downloading apps. - Facebook and email are all ok but when I try to download anything from the Google/Play it gives me option to download then spends ages saying downloading and eventually -'could not download due to error' ????? Please help.

Are you doing it over WiFi or your phone's data connection?

If you are doing it over the phone's data connection, depending on what app, and your signal quality, it will give you issues trying to download the file if it is too large.

Is there any way for you to verify that you are getting enough data over WiFi or you phone's data connection? There is some, but it doesn't take much to pull email or Facebook updates. I can upload a speedtest apk but I don't know if you can install it.

I am thinking it is possible there could be something funky going on with the radio in the phone. You could disable data and WiFi, turn the phone off, and then turn data and WiFi back on and see if it clears any potential data issues.

You can try clearing the Data and/or cache of the Google app through Settings, Applications, All. Then scroll down to Google Play and select it. Erase the data and then relaunch it.
