Living dangerously, to me, is eating spaghetti with a white shirt on.
Not yet. I will do this ASAP but am waiting on my provider (Telstra) to examine the data usage when the overheating occurred. For some reason Telstra has to wait for the "end of month" account. I will know more on the 20th September and will let you know. In the mean time Telstra has barred data usage. What data watch dog would you suggest?
Welcome to the site. Hope you are able to get everything resolved.
I have talked to Telstra and they could not pin-point the cause of the overheating on 3rd September. They suggest disabling auto-sync and removing all recently installed apps - then reinstall them and see which ones are dependent on the internet for proper function. These apps might be using the resources in the background and causing the excessive usage and overheating. Things like AVG anti-virus app are suspect. I may remove some altogether.
Anyhow, if it happens again I will be more able to see which app is active at the time because I am using a watchdog (3G Watchdog).
I have not yet removed and re-added the email account as it seems to be working OK. Will bear this in mind. I will let you know if I have any more trouble. Thanks again.![]()

Welcome pw! How long has this been happening? How long have you had the phone? Have you tried uninstalling your recent apps that may have caused this or perhaps doing a factory reset?
