Sorry, the above method works fine on new Android devices. For old devices like S5, you can follow this guide:

You can do a factory reset and can delete all your data at once, if you are still worried about the data recovery, just use an Android data eraser tool. For samsung users, check this tutorial:

Samsung data eraser program allows us to erase data on Samsung Galaxy phone completely. With its help, all data like contacts, text messages, videos, call logs, photos, etc can easily erased. And the erased data can't be recovered by any data recovery software.

Actually, even though you have deleted all contents & settings on your old phone, but the deleted data still can be restored with a simple data recovery software on the market. So, in order to protect your personal information from restoring or leaking out, you're strongly recommend to permanently erase text messages and contacts on the device before selling, donating or sending it.

You may have found that data deleted manually can be restored with all kinds of data recovery software for Samsung, right? So in order to end the possibility of restoring, you need to ask for help from a professional data eraser software for your Samsung Galaxy phones or tablets - Samsung Data Eraser software.

With it, you can wipe data like text messages, SMS attachments, contacts, etc. from Samsung Galaxy/Note within few clicks. And the erased data will never be retrieved by any Android data recovery software. So you can never worry about your personal information will be stolen or leaked out after reselling your old phone online.

This Android Data Eraser is surely your top choice. It enables you to permanently erase personal files like contacts, messages, private photos and many more from Android phones in an easy way, with zero possibility of being recovered.
