Just looked over the Nexus reviews on Amazon. There are a lot of 1 and 2 star reviews. All of them complain about connectivity (dropping data and calls) and battery life. Even the 3 and 4 star reviews complain about those issues. Maybe that's just the way it is for all LTE phones right now. I imagine Apple will get it right with iPhone 5 and then all the Android phones will catch up next year. Saying this as a realist, not an Apple apologist.

Unfortunately I'm seriously considering the Razr Maxx as my next device. As badly as I want the Nexus, being able to make calls & take a high quality picture are 2 of my main concerns.
Sigh..... We'll see.... keeping my fingers crossed for the GS3!

The razr is an unbelievable device C...no need to feel shame about that. You just rooted the fasci for goodness sakes. lol As a stock device it is pretty wowing. The signal on it is near unstoppable. Till the update at least...lol

I am unbelievably jealous of the signal my GF gets on her Maxx. I don't really lose signal on the GNex (except when I'm surrounded by steel & concrete), but that thing holds onto signal like a mongoose on a cobra that it just killed!

Same with my razr...I do not lose signal with my gnex in the wild...but when I go in a gym or auditorium I will lose it...like many phones do. But the razr...nope.

I don't suffer from a signal loss on my LTE Note. It must vary from phone to phone.

Thanks for the helpful input guys! Gonna hold out for the G3 as long as possible... but the Razr is looking better & better. I'll have to play around with the Note some more, it's just seemed a bit too large for me & my small cranium when I checked it out in Best Buy last month.

Razr is a great device. I know several people who have one and they're all very happy with it. Never heard a bad word about it from people I actually know who have them. People are always asking me what phone they should get and recently more often than not my answer has been the Razr Maxx. As far as just turning people on to Android with a powerful device with few issues, that's the way to go.

Motorola should be proud of the Razr. It is an amazing phone, and once again I will blow the Motorola horn! I just wished they had chosen to release it on AT&T and not Verizon (just a personal preference, the only positive thing I get out of Verizon is the LTE speeds in Louisville).

I have been experiencing the same issues some report in terms of mobile reception. It goes in and out on my GNex (GSM version on AT&T) depending on where I am. With my Atrix 4G, this was never an issue with WiFi or mobile signal. I have experienced the same thing on my Galaxy Skyrocket, but have been able to mitigate this by flashing different radios. I have not done so yet on the Nexus because I am still pretty new to the phone.

I will also be buying a SGIII methinks!
