Is your phone stock or are you rooted? Do you have a task killer installed?
Welcome to the forum btw!
I would say stock as I don't know what "rooted" is...lol and yes I believe I have a task killer. I downloaded JuiceDefender.
You may want to unistall Juice Defender and then try to accept a new msg. After reading up on that apps features, it may be having an affect on your MMS downloads depending on Juice Defenders settings.
Give it a try and let us know how you make out.
Anyone else have any other suggestions for our new member?
You may also want to open up your messaging app, click the menu button, click on settings, and make sure there's a check mark in the box that says "auto retrieve ".
I followed both suggestions and saw no change in the result. Any other suggestions?
I considered stopping by the Verizon retailer but he was the last one to adjust the settings in my phone which my be the problem. I am not certain what he changed though.
kmharris: Did you resolve your issue with MMS messages?
I was having the same issue. Mine is rooted with a non-stock ROM, running Juice Defender.
I don't know if Juice Defender was actually causing the issue, but it makes sense that it might.
Either rate, without uninstalling or disabling Juice Defender, I was able to resolve my issue by simply turning OFF the Auto Retrieve setting in the MMS app. It simply gives a download button on each new MMS message. tap them, and, although it may take a minute, they'll appear.
Admittedly, it's not as convenient as the media simply arriving on its own, but better than it not arriving at all...
An additional option which I have not yet tested (but plan to) is to add MMS to the exceptions list within Juice Defender.
Good luck!
I found this on some on the net somewhere. Seemed to work for me:
1. lock the mms message you want to view
2. then delete all other messages from that user in that thread
3. go into the user you are trying to views contact information and delete their phone number from their contact information ( You don't need to delete the person, just the number in which they used to send the mms / sms )
4. reboot your phone
5. go back into your sms and you should see the number from which the text was sent. click on download and it should start downloading the mms.
Hope this helps, it worked for me.
