    Problems installing clockworkmod

I've looked everywhere for the answer to this, but have come up empty. I'm somewhat of a n00b on this stuff. I have a rooted fascinate and am now trying my hand at installing clockwork and playing around with some other mods. I've installed CWM using Odin, and supposedly flashed a compatible kernel as well. Still no CWM when trying to boot into recovery. I began reading some issues booting in using 3e recovery, and some people recommending reverting to a 2e recovery kernel. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, such as what I'm doing wrong, kernels to flash, if I didn't flash the kernel properly, etc. Thanks guys.

bhfd64, I'll have to check my home computer to see what files they were exactly. I got them directly from the clockwork install links either here or one of the other forums.

jun991013, the problem with that method is that Odin won't recognize my phone without the battery in place. So that's a problem. When I boot into blue recovery, running update.zip fails every time.

    Hi guys,

I'm having this same issue with CWM. After installing with ROM Manager and ODIN the phone still boots Android System Recovery <2e> every time.

My phone is stock 2.1 update 1 build EA28 with kernel 2.6.29

ROM Manager 4.3.2.3 and CWM 3.0.0.8 shows installed.

Used ODIN to push the older CWM's and ROM Manager recognized them, but wouldn't install. It indicated a problem with downloading the file when I tried to flash the older ones.

If you've got any ideas, I'm open to them. At this point I'm lost.

Ok, looking at my phone, my kernel is 2.6.32.9. I'm on 2.2 firmware and ED04. Problem is I have 3e recovery, and this doesn't like any of this crap. I did dl ROM Manager, but I've seen that it and the Fascinate do not play well together. So, I have not used it.

BTW, this ED04 radio is crap. I will be using the methods found around the foums to get back to at least ED01 or ED03. N00b question, but when I flash through ODIN, it does install it, correct? Or is there another step I need to take?

Check out the EC09 radio. It came from the Gingerbread leak. Many of us have been finding that it has better signal strength. Here's the XDA thread where you can get it:

When you flash through Odin, you'll know if it takes because the box will turn green and say PASS.
