Black screen.. Full battery... Screen won't come on

So I'm extremely frustrated and ticked off. Everytime I put my phone in my pocket, or sometimes when the screen times out, I cannot get the screen to come back on. I do multiple battery pulls and once left it out for an hour. To no avail. I know that the phone is on because the screen still vibrates when I touch it. The phone rings and gets texts but the screen won't come on. When it starts up I hear the powering up sound but no picture (and sometimes no sound). I have cleared out most apps because I read somewhere it can be app related, maybe. BUT THE PHONE WORKS WHEN I PLUG IT INTO MY WALL CHARGER PERFECTLY. Doesn't come back on for my car charger.

Summary:

Phone works when plugged to wall charger.
Blank/black screen when it goes in my pocket or times out
Power button and battery pulls most times get no response from screen
No water damage
Rarely any damaging drops

Are you rooted or stock? If you are rooted what are running? If stock it sounds like you have a defective device. I would call VZW and tell them the problems and they should send you out a new one to replace it since you haven't damaged it in any way.

You might try a factory reset before contacting VZW. They'll want you to do one anyway. Also check to see if you have any OTA software updates available.
