Picture in Message won't download

Please see attached ... I can't figure out why this picture won't download. I've tried clicking on it to see the other menu, but I don't see "continue download" or anything like that. This is the second time this has happened, and I don't know how to fix it.

I rebooted my phone about a minute before she sent over the picture. Does that have anything to do with my problem? I also tried rebooting after the picture was sent to see if it would automatically start downloading again, but that didn't work either.

Can anyone help me, please?

So a long press on the picture doesn't bring up a menu? That's where you should get the option to download the picture. Have you checked your gallery to see if it actually downloaded? I've noticed that happens w/ my messages & emails sometimes.

Sorry, I'm not talking about the picture that you can actually see.

The picture I'm trying to "download" is the yellow box just above the picture. She sent me two pictures. The first one isn't showing up. The second one is showing up. The first yellow conversation box says...

Message size: 30KB Downloading
Expires 12:26PM, Nov 18

When I long press on that conversation box it shows me (1) Delete Message, (2) Lock Message and (3) View message detail.

Yes, she can just resend the pic, but I just want to know wtf is going on. hahaha....

It looks like a network issue to me and not an issue with your phone.

The same thing has been happening to me for a few weeks, it just days downloading but never actually downloads!

Mine did this too starting this weekend and most recently last night. It was sent from Sprint, not Verizon, and both times it's the message I received. Called into Verizon and they weren't sure what the issue is other than in my particular area, we are having some sort of tower issue. It took 3+ hours for a picture message from me to someone on AT&T to get to them. Not fun!!!
