Changing kernels

I want to go from CWM Voodoo Lagfix REovery v3.0.2.8x.ti to CLockwork mod recovery(just the regular version). Voodoo has too many problems including not allowing be to do a nandroid backup

What rom are you on.

The recovery it self didn't install voodoo lag fix. It is named that to let you know its voodoo compatible. Do of you haven't flashed a voodoo kernel then there is no voodoo to undo

oh ok. So why wont it let me do a nandroid backup? And the version is: v3.0.2.8x.ti

If you're running the stock ROM, you won't be able to make a nandroid backup. You'll need to be on a custom ROM in order to do that.

Hey do you know of one that has verizon's backup assistant?

To my knowledge, none of the ICS ROMs have it. I honestly can't remember if any of the GB ROMs do. Sorry.

You're probably better off exporting your contacts to your Google account. That way, you won't ever have to worry about whether Backup Assistant is available.

I have exported them to google and am currently in the process of changing the phone numbers from a note to the number field. I want to get another new rom but am afraid I will have the problem last time where after a couple of weeks I couldnt receive calls from my mom(not a good thing), who was the only one who didnt receive them

I honestly can't recommend a Fascinate ROM based on phone capabilities, as I haven't used my Fassy for calls in almost 6 months. Hopefully, someone will have a suggestion for you.

Yeah I cant wait to upgrade to a 4g phone phone, but still want to get a samsung one. These are pretty tough phones. Please someone reply if you know of a rom that doesnt have calling problems.

I've been on the Powerwashed GB rom for the past 6-7 months and haven't had any call/reception issues. You can't use Verizons backup app, but if you save all your contacts through Google as Mujibar suggested, you'll be just fine.
