    Facebook Notifications

I came from a Blackberry Tour, so I am used to having all of my emails, texts, and Facebook notifications hitting my phone as SOON as they happen. Now I have noticed on the Fascinate that is completely different. I get emails at odd times of the day, all at once, and I have not received a SINGLE Facebook notification yet. Does anyone know how I can get my notifications back without having to manually open the FB app and check my notifications? And possibly a solution to having email always being sent to me?

Open facebook>settings and you should see an option for notifications

What about turning FB notifications on thru FB's website? You have an option to receive notifications, emails, pokes and all the rest via Text messages sent directly to your phone.

It works for me. Other than that, look into getting a FB app.

Blackberry and Droid are two different animals. I came from a Blackberry and about the only good thing about Dingleberry was the instant email and facebook notifications. With my Samsung I had to set it for text alerts when my facebook had a message or post and email only updates when I open it. I was hoping for easy instant notifications like you but as of now Dingleberry is one upon us in that department.

like you, i am also new (got my fascinate this past sunday and came from the blackberry tour) and i was wondering why, even after setting the facebook notification options to "on" i wasn't getting anything. i even checked that i wanted to have my phone vibrate and the LED to blink - nada. however, i came across an article and seems that 'push' notifications DO NOT work on android 2.1 but that they will work on android 2.2. here's to hoping because i do miss having my phone notify me about my fb notifications right away. here's a link to the article

Facebook for Android updated, chat and push notifications in tow - 2.2.

Off topic but before anyone marks a post as spam flag it for the mods and we will take care of it. The link pertains to the OPs post, and is not spam. ok off my soap box back to the topic

Did I miss something or was a comment removed and so x-tacs comment no longer applies to anyone in particular? (of course the comment as a whole makes perfect sense to notify the mods/admin)

X-tac's post pertains to the one above it. It was marked as spam by someone (not one of the mods). There's nothing "spammy" about the post or the link.

The request is to report a suspected spam post to the mods, rather than flagging it as spam. We'll take it from there. Thanks.

Thank you sir! I didn't even realize we could "mark" posts as spam. Is that what the exclamation point is at the bottom left of each comment?
