Why don't Data Toggle Apps Work on my GS2?

I would like to be able to toggle data on/off from my home screen without going through <settings-airplane mode-confirm> every time. I see there are many data toggle apps and widgets available but none seem to work on my phone (a new ATT Galaxy S2 Skyrocket). I have installed about ten of them (including ones with positive GS2 user comments) but each one will not turn off the data. Am I missing something about install/setup?

Have you tried Extended Controls or Data Enabler?

Ollie - I had tried a bunch of data controllers without any working, but just now downloaded Data Enabler as you suggested and it works! What is really odd is that this morning the 4G connection disappeared from my phone, but when I installed Data Enabler it brought back the 4G. I don't know what gives with this, but it's working for now so I'm doubly appreciative of your reply - thanks very much for your help!

Glad it worked! I personally just toggle Airplane mode and then turn wifi on, but I don't use my phone to make calls much.

I tried Data Enabler but it doesn't work for me. However, I found this app: Sprint Galaxy S2 Data Toggle. It says it works specifically for the Sprint version of GS2, and it works as it says. I'm not sure if it works on other carrier versions though. Here's the link:

Thanks psyborg - I'll look into this as Data Enabler has been proving inconsistent for me, but I still like the idea of a simple data toggle if I can find one that works for me.
