Multiple email sending!

Thanks to good help from this Forum the first problem I had with my new ATT GS2 is solved - now I just have one problem remaining. When I send an email through the phone's email app it sends the message fine, but about two hours later it always sends the same message again with the recipient's name repeated four times in the "To:" line. I can't figure out why or how it is doing this or if it is a combination of phone/server error. Does anyone have experience of this additional sending of multiple copies and know a fix?

Have you tried an alternate email client from the market to see if the problem travels over to another email app?

Thanks - I installed the Gmail client and that seems to work fine without making the extra sends - so it's an app specific problem - but I'd like to be able to use the stock email client on the phone if possible as it does have some features I like.

Ok. Navigate to Settings, Applications, All. Scroll down to the stock SMS app. Select it. Select clear data/cache. Launch the app again and try it out.

That will wipe all of your current SMS threads so back them and any mms you may want to keep before clearing data.

Thanks. I did this, but the multiple messages continue - first the single message to the recipient, then the same message with the recipient four times in the "To:" line. It's not a big issue, of course, as I can use the Gmail app with no problem, but it does seem strange (and my message recipients probably wonder what's with my multiple emails!).

I do like the stock app's layout for reading messages so perhaps I should just use it to read my mail and then use the Gmail app to send. That does make replying a bit more complicated than necessary, however!

Ollie- It DID work! I thought your fix had not worked because I was still getting the additional copies from previous test messages from the IP server. Now I see they have stopped and the latest test message I sent worked fine - no additional copies! This means you solved both of the two problems I had with my new GSII! In return I promise to keep this phone a good while before I get a new one and have more hassles for you! lol! Thanks again.
