how to change/edit skyrocket apn setting

Hello, so i've been looking all over the net on how to change the apn setting on my phone. Found several but still having trouble.
when I get to the access point names and tab on it, it doesn't have a menu like the sites i found says. it display apns: att pta with a green dot/target. tab/hold dot, nothing. tab on the att pta then goes to edit acces point but can delete/edit any of the setting.

would i need to reset the phone in order to change the apn? I'm using a straighttalk sim card. it's a brand new att phone.
like i said, the main thing is when i tab the access point names, it does not have a menu setting to create/delete a new apn.
any helpl would greatly appreciated. sorry if this is a double post. and yes i did search before posting.
    thanks

When you are at that window, hit the menu button and you should be able to add a new one.

I have the same APN info on my phone.

ok, so i added another apn. but the phone still don't have internet connection. was wondering if you can delete the old apn. straighttalk said i need to delete old apn. when i tab the menu, it only allow to add and restore default apn.
if i can't delete the old apn, i might have to unlock the phone. would that clear the old apn?

    thanks

In order to delete the APN, you would have to root the phone I would guess. I have never tried to do it on an unrooted phone.

Rooting gives you Administrator rights to make changes to your phone. Your phone never had a locked bootloader, so it's already unlocked.

so, unlocking and rooting are two different animals, huh?
i'd thought that since to it an att phone. it's locked to att. so, i'd have to root the phone in order to delete the old apn?
if so, i might have to look on youtube to see if there's any info on how to do that.

Forgive me - you were speaking of unlocking the sim, I was thinking unlocking the bootloader. Two different things. Your phone will need to have it's sim unlocked, yes, if you want to change the carrier from say T-Mobile to AT&T. That will require an unlock code from one of those companies on the internet. Unless of course, you have an international model GTI9100 - those were unlocked at the factory.
