Here are some useful links for us Skyrocket owners. They are pulled from XDA because I have not had a reason to really venture outside of XDA for what I have been doing (mostly just flashing various ROMs and trying out different kernels). However, if anyone knows of any information that I have not put in here that is useful, please do make a post and I will add it. The guys over at XDA are doing a great job at keeping up with any changes.
I did not author any of these posts on XDA. The credit goes to the initial thread starters or the people they have credited in their threads.
***UPDATE July 27, 2012***
vincom over at XDA has rolled most of these threads and guides in to a few posts, making most of this information easier to find.
[HOWTO] NEWB GUIDES TO: | RESTORE TO STOCK | USE ODIN | INSTALL CWM | ROOT ics/gb
[REF] SKYROCKET >> | ROMS |KERNELS | FIRMWARE | RADIOS | HOWTO'S | GUIDES | INFo |
If you cannot find what you are looking for within these threads, then do a search of the Skyrocket Q&A forum on XDA and you will likely find your answer.
***FRIENDLY NOTE***
XDA is a great resource (among others, there are indeed many) for those of us who choose to modify the software on our phones or just want to learn more about our phones. Most of the developers over there spend their personal free time working on the projects listed in the forums. They contribute to the community, often times with little to no gain other than the satisfaction of putting out software or fixes or guides for those that want it. Please be respectful to them, and if you cannot or choose not to donate to their project, at the least, thank them. Not everyone asks for a donation, but the thanks is still respectful.
Make sure you are careful to read everything over if you are rooting or flashing a ROM. If you have a question about a ROM, or kernel, or recovery then search the thread. Chances are if it is a popular mod/hack/ROM, then the question has likely already been asked. If you cannot find your answer in the thread, search the forum. Be diligent and read. If you cannot find it after that, then ask the question. Provide as much information as you can. But be prepared, if you didn't do everything you could to find the answer, especially if it has been answered more than once, you might be in for some flaming. The best place to ask a question is the Q&A section of the forum. There is a little more tolerance there because you are not wasting space in a development post.
Most of what I know now came from reading XDA over and over, and all my buddies at AtrixForums. And from that I am able to spread some love here, there, and everywhere.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
If you have other useful information, feel free to post it and I will get it up here.
